Funny Contest

Here is a bra I designed for a "scrapbooking" contest on-line. It was supposed to be a political-ish statement but looks to me more like something a stripper or Wonder Woman would wear!

After we finished it, Molly and I made a headband for her - it was simple: just buttons and hot glue and turned out really cute!

Long Time No Post

Hello again everyone. I haven't posted in a while because my scrapbooking business has been in a period of transition and I just wasn't sure what to say ... I loved my kits and think that in a different market (or with a different marketing department) they would have been wildly sucessful but that wasn't meant to be. Stay tuned to my blog as I post some of the layouts I am continuing to work on and other interesting tidbits I find as I continue to work with kits and manufacturers in the industry.

For today, check out this blog: www.lotuspaperie.blogspot.com for tons of great sketch ideas and check out this picture of my 3-year-old cutie (coming soon).

Bend, Oregon

I am posting today from Bend, Oregon where I am vacationing with my family (and doing a little scrapbooking). This is a wonderful place for an active outdoorsy family with tons of biking, hiking, parks and interesting things to see and do. We've already spent a fun-filled week here and are looking forward to more. I also visited some of the local scrapbooking stores. You couldn't find a nicer bunch of people and I am happy to tell you that two stores in this area: Scrap-a-doodle in Bend and Scrapbook Nook in La Pine will be carrying my monthly kits - thanks! I'll leave you with a tiny preview of July's kit. It's going to be a great one!

June kit is here!

My June kit is in the stores this week-end. I want to send a special thanks to Just Let Me Scrapbook - my newest customer - THANKS for trying our kits. I am adding their on-line store to the links and please visit their brick and mortar store if you are ever in Barnesville, Ga. Here are the rest of the layout ideas for June. In addition to fantastic beach pictures, I noticed that the papers go great with fall colors (oranges, browns, reds are all in there). Take a close look at this part of the surfer layout - I stamped and inked the wood chips to make surfboards - it was fun! Loved using those scenic route journaling spots and stencil letters too.

This month's kit includes instruction for making your own picture puzzle blocks. This was a really fun activity for my 6 (and 2!) year olds. The 6 year old was able to make the puzzle pretty independently and the 2 year old had a blast painting the wood blocks with her "no mess" type paints. It's going to make a great Father's Day gift for someone ...

June kit coming soon!

Here is a preview of the June kit which will be arriving in stores by June 1st. This kit was even more fun than last month's - I got a little more caught up on beach pictures and even scrapbooked an everyday moment with Alex. The project for this month was fun too - for everyone. My 6 year-old was able to help me make it and my 2-year-old tested it out in the playroom.

I have some other exciting news too. I am changing the name of the monthly kits and project kits to Backroads Design - Remember the Journey. I hope you like it.

The kits are in Atlanta stores now! One of our stores, EMI Scrapbooking (and they have such a great selection of product too) has offered to ship the kits if you are interested as well. Check out my links ...
